Heathrow and Gatwick: Latest travel advice for Poland, Germany, Hungary, and Czech Republic

As the January chill sets in British holidaymakers will be dreaming of a trip to Heathrow and Gatwick to hop on a plane.

Anyone wanting to escape our rainy little island will need to be clued up on travel restrictions in countries in Europe and beyond so they don’t run into issues while away.

MyLondon has pulled together all the latest UK government advice for travel to Hungary, the Czech Republic, Poland and Germany to help make your trip as easy as possible.

Poland

Travellers who have been fully vaccinated with an EU-approved vaccine are exempt from quarantine when they arrive in Poland.

They must, however, have proof of vaccination and 14 days must have passed since the second dose.

Germany

Regardless of vaccination status, all travellers entering from Germany must fill in a pre-departure digital registration form.

Germany employs a two-tier system of risk categories (virus variant areas and high-incidence areas). Each type of area has its own distinct rules of entry.

As the UK is a ‘high-risk area’, travellers may enter Germany from the UK for any travel purpose so long as they are fully vaccinated.

Hungary

From October 29, 2021, UK nationals are no longer required to present a negative PCR test so long as they have been fully vaccinated under the UK vaccination programme.

Czech Republic

UK travellers who have been fully vaccinated are permitted to enter the Czech Republic without presenting a negative PCR test or needing to isolate.

Tourists will, however, have to fill in a passenger locator form (PLF) before arrival.
